oFMS - open Facility Management Server
Open Facility Management Server (oFMS) is an interoperable equipment server for building and home (automation) systems. It is based on open Building Information eXchange (oBIX). Information is stored in oBIX format and server offers oBIX Web services interface both to subsystems (devices) and control systems (user interfaces).
Like integration platform, equipment server is placed between controlling systems and independent subsystems that communicate with various protocols. It equalizes the information and controls to oBIX format.
Server implements basic features defined by oBIX specification. Lobby, Watches, Batch and About objects are implemented. In addition, oFMS offers one more operation, SignUp. Using SignUp any oBIX client can add information to the server. Devices can flexibly connect to the server using the Web services interface. Connecting is done using adapters that translate different protocols to oBIX format. This makes oFMS a stand-alone server instead of beeing just integrated into some system controller. Server is hardware independent and tested both with Windows and Linux operating systems.
